Ontology Summarization

Ontology summarization is the process of distilling knowledge from ontology to produce an abridged version for a particular user (or users) and task (or tasks). The task of our ontology summarization is to facilitate a quick and comprehensive understanding on ontology. Given an ontology, its summary is produced by extracting salient RDF sentences derived from the ontology. The salience of RDF sentences can be accessed by using serveral different "Centrality" measures on RDF Sentence Graph, which is a graph characterizing links between RDF sentences from the viewpoint of a surfer.

We have implement five different "centrality" measures to assess the salience of RDF sentences, where:

  • CI : Weighted in-degree measure;
  • CB : Betwenness measure;
  • CP : Weighted PageRank measure;
  • CF : Focused Weighted PageRank measure;
  • CH : HITS measure
Notice:

Due to the complexity of ontology summarization, this is only a demo for summarizing small ontologies in real-time. You can upload your ontology document written in RDF(S)or OWL, with the document size less than 100KBytes. For larger ontologies, we suggest you email them to , The result will return to you by email and it will take time.

1. Upload Ontology Document from Your Computer (<100KB):
